Sebastian’s land and facilities are leased from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. We thank the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for allowing us use of their property.
In 2001 with a Growing Greener Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Sebastian teamed up with the Montgomery County Conservation District to do their share protecting the local watershed.
Many local agencies and organizations pitched in with supplies, labor and funds to help the job along. The two-year project entailed stabilizing streambanks and installing riparian buffers along the Skippack Creek, contouring berms and swales for better stormwater management, constructing a manure stacking pad, and implementing a solid pasture management program.
